Ragababe Easy AIO Review
Before I jump into this review, I want to briefly discuss HOW it is composed. I have two main beliefs when it comes to diaper reviews: (1) I do not want to bash on a diaper. I simply aim to show who it works best for and possible concerns some people have. , (2) People (including myself) can give up on a diaper because of a certain issue without even troubleshooting with the makers of the diaper. I have found that the makers provide a lot of great tips. That is why all reviews are shown to the owner with the option to provide comments; however, I DO NOT change any answers, I simply give them a chance to add a comment.
Padded Tush Stats recently released surveys for the Ragababe ‘Easy’ All in One Diaper. After numerous calls for survey respondents on social networking sites, blogs, and cloth diapering community forums, we received 30 survey responses.
You know those clips from the Beatles days where you see the screaming fans, near tears over excitement (I am still in denial that Bieber fever elicits the same reaction). Well, although they (wanted to put “we” here because I know I fall in this category) are masked by a computer and we can’t see their reactions, it’s pretty much what current/hopeful Ragababe owners look like as the store nears an opening or a used diaper posts online.
What caused this “Raga” fever? Well there are two things that have lead many, including myself, to have that heart racing moment of purchasing a diaper (my Mom did not understand why I sat at her computer for 45 minutes waiting for the store to open):
1) High quality - look at the results so far. This is by far the best-rated diaper at the moment. The performance is nearly off the charts, with Ragababe scoring perfect in almost every category
2) The store situation. I don’t have exact numbers to support this or anything, but about the time Ragababe word because a loud buzz, the company made a move to a different state. This has caused them to have to train new people to help them make the diapers. They closed the store down and in an instant the forbidden fruit became all that much desirable. The store first reopened and within fifteen minutes they had to close because they sold out. They spent several weeks making more, and at the opening, they sold out in an instant. It won’t be like this for too long (*gulp* I hope not, my baby is nearing size large!), but until the company can catch up with the craze, this is how it goes. (NOTE: There are probably many more details to this story, this is just what I have picked up)
Before we look at the results of the survey, I wanted to provide some basic information on the diaper. You can also see this in the video found below.
The Ragababe Easy AIO is an all in one diaper, which means the soaker is sewn in and the diaper closely resembles the ease of a disposable (no stuffing, pinning, snapping in, etc). The exterior is made of waterproof laminated polyester PUL which makes it waterproof and durable. The sewn in soaker is made of bamboo rayon and topped with suede cloth to wick away moisture and help prevent rashes. Strong elastic in the gussets and across the back hold in messes. The diaper comes in four different sizes: newborn (6-15lbs), small (9-20lbs), medium (14-30lbs), and large (23-40+lbs). The diaper is made of strong velcro that does not appear to curl over time. It also contains laundry tabs to prevent the velcro from sticking to other diapers in the laundry.
Main Findings: Even though there were thirty responses (one of the largest response rates so far), the diaper scored PERFECT in THIRTY SEVEN different categories. The diaper performed best for with chunky thighs and babies with skinny thighs. Everyone felt the diaper was trim, liked by cloth diapering skeptics, daycare worthy, and a naptime diaper. Some people did not think it was a night time diaper and not everyone thought the diaper was worth the price.

Comments from Survey Respondents
* GREAT customer service
* hanging to dry upside down helps drying time go faster
* If your baby is a side sleeper or fast wetter, lay the organic cotton liner on top of the lining.
* I found with my little guy it was important to make sure the diaper was pulled high in the front so the legs did not leak
* my son turned into a side sleeper so at night the insert is a big help
* I love this diaper, but it is so expensive that I couldn't really recommend it. I don't think it's a great value.
* Lay the inserts in--don't stuff.
* For heavy wetters laying doublers in instead of stuffing them works better preventing leaks.
* I find that stuffing isn't as effective as laying the insert right on top.
* Make sure you give the Velcro a good squeeze on the laundry tab so they don't come undone in the washer
* These diapers are very easy to use :)
* That these are the best diapers I have ever tried!
* SO important to follow maker's recommendations for fit, and for nighttime
* This diaper is great and I really like the microsuede
* I liked it without the extra liner.
Pricing
Prints $25.95 for prints, $23.95 for solids
Each diaper comes with an organic cotton liner.
Ragababe creators recommend 1 insert ($7.95-$8.95 each) to lay on top for naptime or night time and 1 doubler ($6.95 each) for naptime and going out and about.
Made in the US
Where to buy them
* You can order them at www.ragababe.com. The owners recently moved to another state and is in the process of training seamstresses. However, in this period of time the popularity of the diaper grew exponentially and therefore the store is closed and opens once every couple of weeks for about fifteen minutes. It will be like this for a few months until they catch up with the growing need. You can snatch up some on used diaper sites and on the Ragababe facebook page. These sell in minutes.

OK...Fine...I'm In
For those of you who know me, you know I have avoided prefolds and flats like the plague as I hide under my pitiful excuse that "I am a clutz" (have you noticed it took two months before I posted surveys on prefolds and flats? That's because I feel I need to try a diaper in order to do a review and I dreaded trying those!). I am fairly convinced that if I turn to the folding side, it will only be a matter of time before I snappy myself to a prefold or, even worse, I snag my baby with a snappy (my biggest fear!).
But I have given it a REALLY good try. And guess what? I love it. At first I thought my fit was ALL wrong. I couldn't get the back to connect with the front. I went on diaperswappers.com and a great group of people helped me realize the back wasn't high enough. So now, I gotta tell you, although my prefolds are normally my "use only if the world is crashing down and you are out of colorful AIOs, AI2s, Pockets, and Fitteds", I now want SO BADLY to reach for the prefolds. There is something fun in folding it and seeing how each time I get a little better. My friend at Mama Mel Crafts wrote an awesome post to help me figure out how to actually prep mine to get them fluffy.
And now for the kicker....Kim at Dirty Diaper Laundry knows just how to push me at the right time. In response to a terribly sad article about people using soiled disposables, she issued a challenge for people to use flats exclusively for a week (May 23-30). Guess what? I'm in. I am scared out of my mind, but I am in. I looked at youtube videos and HOLY MOLY the folding scares me. But...I'm in.
What about you? Are you afraid of prefolds and flats? Do you share my fear of having to do put one of these on, contactless, in the dark, in the middle of the night? What are your thoughts on prefolds?
Oh and one other question. Thanks to Little Boppers and Softbums, I am now addicted to soft stuff like bamboo and velour on my babies' tushies. Do prefolds/flats come like this? What other prefolds/flats should I put here on Padded Tush Stats? Educate me!

Bumgenius 4.0 Pocket Diaper Review
Before I jump into this review, I want to briefly discuss HOW reviews here are composed. I have two main beliefs when it comes to diaper reviews: (1) For every diaper, there is a baby out there that it works well for. Therefore, reviews at Padded Tush Stats emphasize what kinds of babies certain diapers work well for, and perhaps struggles some people may have with a diaper. Since I include both the praises of the diaper and the issues people had, you can expect a pretty honest review. (2) People (including myself) can give up on a diaper because of a certain issue without even troubleshooting with the makers of the diaper. I have found that the makers provide a lot of great tips. That is why all reviews are shown to the owner with the option for them to provide comments; however, I DO NOT change any answers, I simply give them a chance to add a comment.
Padded Tush Stats recently released surveys for the Bumgenius 4.0 Pocket Diaper. After numerous calls for survey respondents on social networking sites, blogs, and cloth diapering community forums, we received 23 responses.
In the survey, questions are broken down by the kinds of diapering issues faced by the babies. Before we look at the results of the survey, I wanted to provide some basic information on the diaper. You can also see this in the video found below.
The BumGenius 4.0 is a pocket diaper. This means that you can stuff it according to the absorbency that you need. The diaper has a 3X3 snap down rise that allows the diaper to fit babies in the 7-35+ pound range. The diaper comes in both aplix (velcro) and snap closures. The diaper comes with two inserts: newborn and a one-size insert. You can adjust the one size insert with a snap. The diaper features laundry tabs (which are a little stronger than those in the 3.0)
Main Findings: Diaper owners who were most impressed with this diaper were those with rash prone babies. Although the diaper did not receive high ranking for absorbency and nighttime use, many put in a different insert to make it work. The diaper received excellent ratings in regards to being used by cloth diapering skeptics and daycare. The aplix closure makes it easy to put on and yet owners had the ability to adjust the absorbency by stuffing the pocket with different inserts.
Here is the video review (pardon the voice…I am getting over being sick – My voice will remind you of Monica from Friends saying “I’m FINDE”. But it beats my Flip video where I was breathing hard and went into labor just hours later!). I encourage you to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you get new reviews as they come in. Awe heck, while I am at it, here is my shameless plug for you to “Like” Padded Tush Stats on Facebook, Tweet me on Twitter, and follow me on Google Friend. I am a number girl, as you know, so those follower numbers warm my heart (oh and your comments warm it up too so chat away!)

Comments from Survey Respondents
”This diaper can be night worthy if you stuff it correctly. We use joey bunz size mediums during the day and add an extra doubler if he's had a lot to drink or for naps. At night a superdo or flip organic work well”
“I stuff with a microfiber and a Fuzzibunz hemp liner at night and never have had leaks for 12 + hours!”
“Used Thirsties Duo hemp prefolds as inserts.”
“I like to stuff our diapers with natural material inserts for the most part like cotton infant prefolds etc. If using this diaper overnight I always unsnap to the full rise setting and stuff with a 3 layer bamboo insert, a bamboo or hemp booster and topped with a microfiber insert because it will absorb faster.”
“Works better with a hemp booster.”
“I find that using hemps inserts with this diaper make it trimmer and more absorbent. It works very well with a loopy-do for nighttime diapering.”
“I've found that prefolds fit better into BGs & provide better absorbency than the provided micofiber inserts”
“We had both regular and organic ones. MUCH prefer the organics with the cotton lining (even though attached, so more of an AIO), as they absorbed better and sat better on our baby. Much nicer finishing on the organics, and would definitely like to see more of this (cotton, even if not organic, though the organic is certainly nice). :)”
“I switched all my microfiber out for Joey Bunz hemp inserts and I found I get a much trimmer fit without losing absorbency”

Bumgenius Diapers are made in the United States and Egypt
Where to buy them
* I have found that Sew Crafty Baby has very reasonable prices. The shipping is free and there is almost always a discount code on the Facebook page. Shipping is fast and customer service has been amazing. This was where I bought most of my diapers even before I got this handy dandy affiliate link.
* There is a great thread at Diaper Swappers that tells you other places where you can get get free shipping.
* If you know of other vendors that sell these at a decent price and have good customer service, feel free to let us know in the comments section.
* What? Another affiliate link? Yup, on the right hand side you will see a Kelly's Closet affiliate link. They have free shipping with orders over $49 and they most often have a free diaper with $39 purchase. I did not purchase from this store prior to my affiliation.
